What is a condominium?
Condominium is a type of multi-unit dwelling in which each unit in a floor is individually owned while the rest of condominium such hallways, elevators, stairs, and lobby are jointly owned by all the owners. Condominiums are usually similar with apartment buildings in form and structure. The difference, however, is with its ownership. While condominiums are individually owned, apartments are normally rented or leased to tenants.

Compared to other types of residential Philippines property, such as apartments and townhouses, condominiums were only recently introduced in the Philippine market. Although it was only recently, condominiums quickly became popular, particularly with the wealthy. The reason why it quickly became popular is because of its location as well as its luxury.

Most condominiums in the past were found near or within major business districts or commercial areas which allows its residents to enjoy the same luxurious experience they can get from townhouses while living within walking distance or mass transit distance with their workplaces. Because of its popularity, many business firms in the Philippines started to build up their own condominiums all over the country, particularly in Metro Manila.

Because of its steady increase in the market, building new and more luxurious condominiums, the price of owning a condo unit have significantly decreased. While its increase allows Filipinos to choose from a wide variety of condominiums, the competition have also significantly increased which led to other competitors to drop their prices. Although there is a significant decrease of price, the luxury and living experience is still the same.

Another change was the introduction of new condominiums. Other than the condominiums found in cities, many of today's condominiums have also been seen in provincial areas. These types of residential Philippines property are known as condominium complexes, which is a type of condominium similar with townhouse complexes. Such similarities include swimming pools, gyms, and recreational parks.

These types of condominiums are usually more affordable compared to those found in the cities, however, depending on its amenities, these types of condominiums may more than the worth of city condos.
