Family-Oriented Housing For Filipinos

Though condominiums and apartments have become very popular in the Philippines, many Filipinos are still opting to buying their own house because they believe that the typical and simple house are the only types of houses that can provide them with everything they need, such as the needs of their family.

Condominiums and apartments (building) have recently dominated the Philippine market because of its many promises of benefits for its residents. Though all of these promises are true, and that many Filipinos today are happily living in an apartment unit or in a condominium unit in the city or in popular commercial areas, not all Filipinos are still convinced that these types of housing can provide them with all that they need.

Advantage of condominiums and apartments for Filipinos
One reason why condominiums and apartment buildings became popular for many Filipinos, compared to the usual philippine homes found in the suburbs, is because of its location. Most of these condominiums and apartment buildings are found either near or inside business and commercial districts. Because of this, residents are given the benefit of living within walking distances or mass transit distances from their workplaces and entertainment areas, a feature which many types of housing lacks, such as the typical house.

However, there are several reasons why the number of Philippine homes are still growing in the market, even though condominiums and apartments have gained significant popularity in this market. One reason is that many Filipinos still believe that the simple, and typical, house is the only type of housing which is appropriate for a growing family.

Houses Vs. condominiums and apartments
According to many Filipinos, the type of housing which is appropriate for a growing family are the typical house. One reason behind this is tradition, particularly because most Filipinos have grown up living in a simple house in the suburbs or in the outskirts. However, another reason is because apartments and condominiums usually consist of small units, which couldn’t easily accommodate a family of 4 or 5.

Another reason is that most of these apartment buildings and condominiums are found the busiest areas, such as in a busy business and commercial district, which are not appropriate for a growing family, particularly for children. However, there are new condominiums known as condominium complexes which is known to provide a more family-oriented environment, such as by building these types of condominiums away from the city, and into a more comfortable and spacious area such as in the outskirts or even in provincial areas.

However, though these new types of condominiums are known for its advantages for families, many Filipinos are still opting to buying a house because houses are far cheaper compared to these types of condominiums. Many new philippine homes are known for its affordability, particularly for the many new housing communities around the Philippines.
